Who We AreOur MissionNorthwest Kidney Kids mission is to offer hope and support to children with chronic kidney disease and their families. We provide group activities, prevention services and educational programs that empower Kidney Kids to achieve lifelong success. Our VisionOur vision is to see every child living with kidney disease and their family thrive. Our hope as we engage kidney kids is they learn to take charge of their health; manage their condition and embrace their future. We strive to build a supportive community where families feel nurtured and encouraged. Our goal is to provide a safe, caring environment where everyone in the kidney kid family can learn, grow and realize their potential. As an organization, NW Kidney Kids strives to be self-sustaining, known as a compassionate force well recognized and respected as one which operates with integrity. We want to be viewed as having a positive influence in the kidney disease community both locally and nationally. In order to do this, we are constantly seeking to improve and expand our programs to make them relevant and valuable to the needs of more children/families. HistoryIn 2006, a group of dedicated professionals and parents started Northwest Kidney Kids with the sole purpose of continuing Kidney Kids Family Camp – a fledgling summer program of 15-17 families coming together to support and sustain one another. After successfully forming Northwest Kidney Kids as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, its founders worked together each year to continue Family Camp traditions. Over the past 15 years since its inception, the dedicated staff, board of directors, and community members of Northwest Kidney Kids continue to serve children and families affected by chronic kidney disease. Our programs have grown to include 2 additional annual camps, clinical support initiatives, and countless resource projects. Learn more about us |
